There is something about balls and formals that I find so special, particularly to photograph. Whether it's Year 12, University, work or special event, balls are always a bunch of fun. I think what makes them so special for me is that I get see all the emotions of the day - the first time someone wears a pair of heels, gets their makeup and hair done or wears a long sparkly dress, or the first time someone wears a suit or ties a tie. You see the joy in everyone's faces seeing each other scrub up nice, parents watching on as their once young child is now growing up, or the aw in people's faces when the limo swings by. And that, to me, is what makes these events just that extra bit special.
